Reports to:  Lead Pastor


Renaissance Christian Church seeks a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual who will provide support to the Lead Pastor. Responsibilities typically include assisting Board Members and the Lead Pastor in ensuring that the strategic ministry objectives of the church are attained, supporting and supervising staff, training leadership teams, aligning all practices and activities with the  mission and vision of Renaissance Church, overseeing discipleship pathways, and managing financial and HR systems.


  • Champion the development of systems and infrastructure for all leadership and ministry areas that support the healthy, long-term growth of the church
  • Train and develop all leadership teams towards an effective reach of the church’s overall mission through a leadership development pathway, produce necessary curriculum for trainings  
  • Gauge spiritual growth and the pulse of our community through research, Renaissance’s engagement pathway, and other metrics
  • Design and implement evangelism and discipleship initiatives under the vision of the Lead Pastor and through the commission of our Lord Jesus Christ
  • Support the Lead Pastor in the accomplishment of the church’s mission through ministry effectiveness evaluation, discernment, decision making, planning and the overall direction of church staff
  • Provide significant input in vision casting and goal setting
  • Help define strategic goals and vision as a key leader among staff and Board Members
  • Facilitate strategic planning including an evaluation of ministry performance; a review of mission, vision, and core values; a development of key objectives and tactics; and an establishment of annual goals
  • Human Resource Management – recruit, hire, conduct and document performance evaluations, discipline, dismissal, on-going informal performance feedback, oversee the negotiation of insurance and other benefits
  • Development of, documentation of, and adherence to the Employee Handbook
  • Oversee the financial functions of the church and meet regularly with Financial Advisory Team
  • Serve as a liaison between staff and various ministries to the Board Members
  • Other pastoral or administrative duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor


  • Lead Pastor: daily interaction, weekly supervision and project check-ins
  • Operations Director: regular check-ins
  • Community Life Pastor: regular check-ins
  • Director of Communications: weekly interaction
  • Creative Director and Crew Director/Children’s Minister: weekly interaction
  • Board Members: regular correspondence


  • Deep commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in every arena in life
  • A Master’s Degree, MBA or Advanced Leadership degree preferred
  • Sufficient experience on a senior leadership team within a medium to large organizational context that reveals skills necessary for this role
  • Ability to supervise staff and understand, motivate, and support leaders
  • A proven track record of effective leadership, judgment, and above reproach character
  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills
  • Project management and proficient technology skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism while maintaining discretion, tact and diplomacy
  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Thrives under pressure, remains calm and takes on difficult challenges
  • A strong marriage/family life visible to others
  • A shepherd’s temperament: servant-leader, mentor attitude and inclination
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to communicate persuasively and compassionately both orally and in writing, and under group dynamics
  • Strong biblical foundation for wise management in a church setting
  • Attends worship services regularly and participates as an active member
